At Benihana

We just rode Big Shot on top of the Stratosphere. Very scary but FUN!

Last night

We had a fun night last night. First we went to see Zumanity at New York New York. It's not for a conservative crowd!

We followed that up at MGM and Studio 54. I was able to grab a few pictures before the camera broke again.

Camera Troubles

Well, yesterday at lunch our brand new digital camera just stopped working. We tried to get help at a Sony store but had no luck. After much pleading with a manager at Best Buy, they agreed to let us exchange it so we took a cab to their nearest location and we were all set.

Unfortunately it only got worse. While out late last night, the new camera stopped working too! It won't close fully, it won't focus, so we are out of luck again.

The good news is, we just picked up 220 proofs and all of the negatives that our photographer took for the wedding!

I guess we'll be using disposable cameras for the rest of our trip. :(

Camera phone hooked up now!

We just hooked up Devon's camera phone to this blog so we can send pictures on the fly as we're out and about. Cool.

Thank you to friends at work

A few friends at work got together to surprise us with some things for our wedding week and I just want to thank them for that.

When we arrived on Wednesday we had chocolate covered strawberries and champagne waiting for us. That was really nice!

Then last night we realized that there was something waiting for us at the concierge desk. This morning we picked it up and found out that they also got us a gift certificate to the spa here at the hotel. Thank you VERY much! We’re each getting the Mandara Stone Therapy:

This century-old treatment utilizes aromatic oils and heated stones to deeply relax your stressed body and soul. An experience you will never forget!

Sounds like fun! Thanks again guys!

Beautiful bride

What else can I say?

We’ve never had a meal like this before…

As I mentioned before, my high school buddy Anthony Carron is now Chef Anthony at Micheal Mina in the Bellagio (he's actually heading back to San Fran soon but that's another story). Anthony hooked us up with a meal beyond belief. I can’t even remember how many courses it was—had to be at least 6. Amazing! Thank you very much Anthony, you made our wedding dinner very special.

Here are just SOME of the items he prepared for us:

Medallions of Ahi Tuna (Rare)
Seared Hudson Valley Foie Gras, Pinot Noir Sauce

Snake River Farms "American Kobe" Surf & Turf
Braised Short Rib & Lobster Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Foie Gras

Maine Lobster Pot Pie
Baby Carrots, Fingerling Potatoes, Black Truffles

Trust me, there was a lot more! With each course they brought us a wine selected to compliment the dish. It was all topped off with desert sampler with 6 or 7 different items.

We’re married!

We're married and have the marriage certificate to prove it! Everything went really great yesterday. Ceremony started at 5pm and was done by 5:15 (no one stood up to object). We then spent the next hour with the photographer before heading over to the Bellagio for dinner.

Pre-wedding slots

Gotta do something to kill the time before the wedding at 5pm.

Devon is leaving at 1pm to get her hair done. I have to be out of the room by 2:30/3:00 for Devon to come back and get dressed. Devon then meets the photographer and minister at 4:30. I show up at 4:40.... Wish us luck!!!

Video Blackjack

I put $5 bucks in the video blackjack machine. Made it up to $20 bucks before losing it all again:

Devon was doing well for a while but end the end, walked out with less money than she had going in:

Winnings, all gone!

Coyote Ugly GETS UGLY

Ever see that bad movie about the bar run by chicks who dance on top of the bar? Well now it’s a franchise with a location in Vegas. They invite all the women to get up and dance. Someone’s grandma took them up on their offer.

PF Chang's for dinner

Stuffed ourselves last night at PF Chang's. We're looking forward to tonight's dinner too since we're going to Micheal Mina at the Bellagio. Our friend Anthony Carron is the Executive Chef there.

Hot in Vegas!

I mean the girl, not the weather. Ok, the weather is hot too.

Lost all our winnings

It took only about 20 mins to lose everything we won. Vegas is great!

Marriage License

We woke up this morning and took a taxi to the Clark County clerks office to get our marriage license. Not much to it really. All we did was fill out a form, give them $55 bucks and walk away with our license. Doesn't get much easier than that. Now that we have the license, we're all set for the official ceremony tomorrow. The taxi driver that took us back to the hotel said, "Oh, so you came here to screw up". I thanked him for his encouraging words.

We're heading back out now to The Bellagio. Devon and I each won $40 on slots there earlier today (after putting $10 in) and have a burning desire to lose it all ASAP.

No time wasted

We didn't waste anytime hitting the town as soon as we got to Vegas. Sure, it was 2am Boston time but the smart thing to do was "reset our clocks" and tour the Las Vegas strip.

Made it to Vegas... dress and all....

After about 12 hours traveling (most of it sitting in the Boston airport actually), we made it to Vegas. In Boston we met this guy called Johnny Ray. He is a lounge singer here in Vegas and invited us to come see him play. He promised to dedicate a song to us and get everyone in the lounge to buy us drinks... We'll be sure to bring the camera for that.

Trying to get to Vegas

Our trip to Vegas almost didn't happen last night. Bad weather out of Boston caused some delays and we almost didn't make our connecting flight. While waiting for 5 hours in Boston, we made some new friends at the bar across from our gate. This picture was taken by the bar tender.

Vegas!

It's soon, the wedding is in 8 days and we leave in 6 days. We can't wait!
